Planning for College & Careers

Planning for College and Careers is a required class for all freshman.  The first semester focuses on exploring colleges and after high school options for students.  We also teach financial literacy using NEFE curriculum.  Students also prepare resumes, cover letters, and participate in a live mock interview with National Guard volunteers at the end of the semester. Students will complete a Community Service project where they will do 8 hours of community service on their own and report on the experience.

The second semester is focused on Computer Applications where students learn necessary basics with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, and desktop publishing skills. Students complete a Menu Project during this portion of the class to demonstrate their efficiency with Office skills by creating their own menu from their uniquely created restaurant of their choice.
